CARE
The Visitation School Before Care Program is available for working parents
who need to bring their children to school before regular school hours.
The program begins at 6:00 a.m. The children are given breakfast, help
with their homework, and a safe and caring environment in which to play.
The cost for the program is minimal. Parents may enroll students into
the program at any time during the school year. Parents are only charged
for days students use the service.

AFTER CARE
The Visitation After Care Program is designed to aide and assist the
working parents of students who are unable to be picked up when school
is dismissed. The program runs from 2:30 p.m. Until 6:00 p.m. Every
Monday through Friday. In After Care the students are given help with
their homework, a light snack, reading or story time, and a chance to
interact by using educational games.
There is a nominal fee for program participants. To meet the needs of
our parents, enrollment into the program is ongoing throughout the school
year.

ACADEMIC TUTORING
Classroom teachers offer after school tutoring sessions on Monday, Wednesday,
Thursday, and Friday. Also, The Guinta Computer Learning Center (GCLC)
is available after school for student use on Monday, Wednesday, and
Friday. On Thursday the GCLC is used by the Technology Club.

COUNSELING
AND DIAGNOSTIC TESTING
Counseling and diagnostic testing services are offered at Visitation
School through the United Stand Family Center located at 3731 West 62nd
Street in Chicago. The United Stand Family Center is dedicated to helping
students with various issues that affect their emotional well being
and academic growth. Some services include individual, group, and family
assessment, intervention, and counseling. Other services include testing
students for learning problems or learning giftedness in order to prepare
individual educational plans for them to follow. All programs offered
at Visitation School include focusing on aspects of grief, self-esteem
building, anger management, respect and responsibility, and social skills.
The counseling and diagnostic services offered at Visitation School
are free of charge. However, there is a sliding scale fee for individuals
or families who seek assistance at United Stand's offices.

SUMMER PROGRAMS
Visitation School offers comprehensive summer programs for students
from Pre-school through Eighth grade. Students take courses in most
subject areas including technology. Counseling and diagnostic testing
continue throughout the summer. Visitation students with special learning
needs also have the option of taking summer sessions at the Archdiocese
of Chicago's Center to Promote Student Success located in Maria High
School, 6727 South California Avenue on Chicago's southwest side.
There is a nominal charge for summer programs.
